So many new toys what to play with 1st??

Jake is showing off some of his new toys. He really enjoys playing with everything he got for Christams! Ellie was over to play too. Jake loves to watch cousin Ellie play. He likes to hang out with her much more than mom and dad. We aren't fun like her. She was trying to teach Jake to shoot hoops but he was much more interested in eating the balls.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ellie

I had to post a picture of Ellie's Birthday party too. She recently turned two. The picutre is of her with her cake and all of her cousins that were there. Jake is off to the right of her being held by Ellie's cousin John.

Happy Holidays!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! We did. I have attached some pictures from our holiday. Christmas Eve we went to church and to my Grandma Jake's (my dad's side of the family). We had a great time playing with Faith. Christmas morning first we opened gifts just the three of us and then headed over to my parents. We opened presents and had lunch with my family. Then daddy and Jake played and mommy took a nap. It was great. I don't think I have had a good nap since I was home on maternity leave. We went to grandpa Ron and Grandma Marlene's for christmas night. Jake had lots of fun opening gifts and watching Ellie play. He loves to watch Ellie and is so good when she is around. She really entertains him. The top picture I am showing the new booties that grandma Marlene crocheted (sp) him . They are so cute. I plan to put him in them when he goes to daycare. Jake got lots of fun new toys to play with so hopefully we will have a few posts of him playing soon. He is getting pretty good at sitting up but still can't sit by himself yet. He has no interest in crawling. Althought, his Aunt Andrea is sure she can teach him to crawl before she goes home. Jake also really enjoys playing with Louie Aunt Andrea's puppy. He spent the day after christmas with Grandma, Grandpa, Andrea and Louie as daycare was closed and mommy and daddy had to work. He likes to pet the puppy and watch him play. Next time Louie comes I have a feeling Jake will be chasing him. Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Santa

We went to see Santa when he was in town Thursday night. Their was

a long line and I just wanted to leave but daddy said it best "this is just the first of many lines you will be standing in for Jake get used to it." He wasn't scared at all we will see what next year brings. You can't really see it but his shirt says"I love you more than Santa"

Typo

Sorry for the typo below. Jake weighs 20lbs 6oz. I never had a 6 lb baby!

A Cup What's this?

Dr. Eich suggested we start giving Jake a cup to learn to drink from. Here is one of his first drinks. He really doesn't understand it yet but didn't make too much of a mess either.

Jake's 6 Month's Old

Wow it has been a long time since i have posted anything! The holidays are catching up with me already. Mommy and Daddy took Monday off of work to spend the day with Jake. I can't believe his is already 6 Months old. We took Jake for pictures. He did an awesome job and to see the doctor for his 6 month check. He passed with flying colors. He is still a big boy weighing in a 6 lbs and 20 oz. That is the 95th percentile for those of you keeping track on that scale. Jake had 4 shots and didn't like them at all but calmed down pretty well after. Jake continues to love going to daycare. He had a friend named Jevin that he plays with most days. Ok playing at 6 months old consists of sitting in their saucers talking back and fourth. It is pretty neat to walk in and see them smile at each other. We did have a small 1/2 brithday party for Jake when aunt Andrea was home. We are always looking for a reason for Grandma to make us a cake!

Just like my Great Grandpa Carlson

We were out shopping for a little while Saturday night. Mommy was looking for a christmas outfit for Jake and daddy found this hat that we just couldn't live without. Jake even got to wear it to Jenna's baptism today.

Snow!!

This is one of the first snow falls this year. We woke up Saturday morning to about an inch of snow on the ground. We bundled Jake up in his snow suit and took him out for an adventure. He didn't really mind when I set him down in the snow so that suit must be nice and warm. Jake is just waiting for another snowy day when grandpa has time to come over and pull him on one of his sleds.

I can roll over

Jake decided this morning that he was going to roll from his back to his tummy. I got him dressed and put him down on the floor. I told him "mom has to get her coffee ready and her sweater on and then we will go to daycare" when I turned around to put him in his car seat he was on his tummy talking. Needless to say neither mommy or daddy saw him roll over for the first time. I had a tear in my eye and called my mom right away. Then we called daddy he was a little sad he missed it too. He hasn't done it again but we were working on it some more tonight. Before I know it our little guy will be crawling.

Trick or Treat

Jake and his cousin Ellie were able to go to the Nursing Home in town tow trick or treat and see Grandpa Ron at work. We also went to grandma and grandpa's house but Jake got really tired and fell asleep so we just came home and handed out candy to the kids who came to the door. We had a ton of fun on our first halloween. I can't belive Jake will be 5 months old in a few days.

Happy Halloween!!

Hope everyone had a great halloween. The first picture is of Jake with the outfit he wore to daycare and his halloween hat. Also him and grandpa with the Francisstein. Daddy name the blow up guy that.

While Daddy was away Mommy and Jake Played

Daddy and Grandpa Ron went to Illinois this weekend. They went to a Metal/Car Show type thing. I stayed at my parents house with Jake because I was too wimpy to stay home alone. We had a good time at Grandma and Granpa's house. They spoiled both of us. We had to take lots of pictures so daddy could see what we were up to so I thought i would share them all. It was nice enought on Saturday afternoon to take a picture of Jake with his pumpkins outside and one of him sitting in his wagon (Thanks Auntie Cheryl for the wagon you gave us!) Sunday morning we had to put our hat and coat on so that we could ride in the stroller.

Sooooo Tired

Jake had an exciting day at daycare today. So much to do he didn't sleep much. We try to put him in his highchair when we eat at night so he learns what it is like to sit up to eat. We are really working on getting in a routine at our house. He was getting hungry himself but before we could finish eating and get his cereal ready he fell asleep.

I can roll over !!

Daddy got Jake to roll over today! He can go from his tummy to his back. He isn't a big fan of doing it so he only did it twice today. I think we will be in for some excitement very soon. Mommy doesn't try to get him to roll over because I am sad he is growing up so fast.

Cereal - I don't think so...

Jake had his 4 month check up yesterday and passed with flying colors. He is 16 lbs 13 1/2 oz. He is a big boy in the 85th percentile for weight. We tried some cereal tonight but as you can see he wasn't really into it. We will keep trying. He didn't seem to mind the taste/texture but isn't sure about eating from a spoon.

Jake's Uncle Adam (Adam is our good friend but we call him unlce) is home from Iraq!! We were so lucky to see him today at baptism. Jake loves the bear that Adam brought him all the way from Ireland where they stopped on the way home. We are one the count down till Adam and Angela have their baby (6 weeks to go). We can't wait to see Jake's new friend.

We tried out Jake's exersaucer for the first time tonight. He is a little small of it still but I think he will really enjoy it soon. He liked it for a few minutes but then was ready to get out of there.

Look What I can Do!!

Jake suprised mommy and daddy tonight when we did tummy time. He is getting very strong and held his head like this for over five minutes. I guess we knew he does tummy time at daycare but hadn't realized how strong he has gotten.

We Love You Grandma & Grandpa

We were able to travel to Scottland for Justin's Cousion Thomas's Weedding this weekend. Congrats Thomas and Tracy. Jake was a good boy and can be seen in the picture with Grandma and Grandpa Carlson. I also attached a picture of cousin Ellie. She was a very good girl too!!

Go Denver Roller Dolls!!

We were able to go watch my Aunt Andrea and the Denver Roller Dolls in Lincoln. Jake is dressed up like a referee just like his Aunt. She is working on teaching him the rules of derby so he can be an awesome ref like her some day. We had a great time at the Bout especially since Denver won big! Jake really enjoyed looking at the lights on the scoreboard, and taking a nap.

Our Trip To Lincoln NE

We were able to travel to Lincoln NE this weekend. Jake had quite a few fun adventures. He got to sit on the ride on toy in the mall with Grandpa and Go swimming in the hotel pool with daddy. He hated the pool just like I expected. He still doesn't really enjoy his bath time so we have to make that as fast as possible.

Another Trip to the Fair

We made another trip to the fair Thursday night the last night of the fair. We had seen the cute cut outs on Monday but didn't think we should get Jake out in the rain. We especially love the cat in the second picture with Jake and Grandpa Ron.

Jake's 1st Turner County Fair

We went to the fair Monday night. It started to rain on the way there but we were troopers. The first picture is of Dad and Jake in the old west town. The second picure is what Jake really saw the majority of the time we were there. :)

Mommy says Tummy Time I say Sleepy Time

A Fly??

Last night we were sitting outside Grandma was holding Jake and a fly landed on his nose. We got it off as soon as we could but not with out a little reaction from our little guy. It all happened so fast he was a little confused but didn't cry. He was too busy looking up at the sky to get mad. I's amazing how the simple things in life can be so much fun with a baby. It was something Grandma and Mom will always remember.

My Coming Home Outfit Fits Now

I had to post this picture to show you Jake's coming home from the hospital outfit. When we came home from the hospital it was huge but we wore it anyway. The shirt fits him really good now but the shorts are still a little big. Daddy did a great job of picking out this cute outfit.
